I was delighted to perform recently at Thirlestaine Park Care Home in Cheltenham as part of their celebrations for BBC Children in Need.
The team and residents created a wonderful atmosphere, with the home decorated in yellow and plenty of homemade cakes being enjoyed throughout the day. I opened with a short stand-up routine before moving around the room to perform close-up magic for small groups of residents — tailoring the magic so everyone could see and take part comfortably.
The care home kindly shared some lovely words afterwards:
“The star of the day was the amazing Patrick Aitchison Magician who took over Thirlestaine Park and turned it into a magical wonderland!
It was a mind blowing performance which left us all in awe!”

It was a real pleasure to spend time with such a warm and welcoming group of residents and staff. Below are some of the photos they shared from the afternoon.
